Time to start thinking about online holiday shopping!

If you sell online, now is the time to get your website and website marketing in tip top shape for the holiday season. To get you thinking about your e-commerce website, the Wired Solutions team has put our heads together and developed a list of our top 15 e-commerce tips:

  1. Never leave unanswered emails for more than 24 hours.
  2. If you only ship to one country, tell people before they’ve taken the effort to fill their cart
  3. Customize each product description.
  4. Show professional quality, sharp images.
  5. Give customers a 1-800 number and/or live chat so that they can easily contact you if they have a question or concern.
  6. If your site looks professional, people will trust it and buy from it. If you’re thinking about redesigning your e-commerce site, click here to read more about the Wired Cart Ecommerce system.
  7. Use a proper SSL certificate.
  8. Have points of reassurance near the add to cart button, such as positive customer reviews.
  9. Put products in more than one category and cross sell by offering a related product suggestion.
  10. Market your website once it’s live.
  11. Make your payment processing as simple and seamless as possible.
  12. Don’t make customers register before shopping.
  13. There is no such thing as too detailed a description. Use images, weights, size and what-ever else is needed to make sure the customer understands what they are buying.
  14. Tell customers the cost and the amount they are saving.
  15. After a customer has checked out, make sure they are getting a confirmation email. This reassures them that their purchase has been made successfully.
