Platypus Cards, a non-profit organization from Toronto, Ontario contract Wired Solutions to develop a custom e-card management system for website administrators to manage greeting cards in the system.  These greeting cards are available to visitors to send to people, for a donation that goes towards helping the environment.

To start, we took the supplied site design and implemented it in an easy to mange ASP.NET 3.5 website complete with nested Master Pages, so content page updates is a cinch!  Next, our development team designed a custom application for the website administrators to be able to manage e-cards in the system, the categories they belong to, as well as a donation manager interface so the administrators can report on donations made, who the cards were sent to as well as the ability to report various date ranges.  The donation manager also sports a "Hall of Fame" component which reports out the top 10 donators for website visitors to view.

When a member wishes to make a donation, they interact with an easy to use, multi-step, donation wizard that allows them to choose the e-card type, the greeting message, as well as the recipients they want the e-card to be sent to.  Once complete, the user enters their credit card information and they system authorizes the transaction through the Beanstream payment gateway that was custom coded for the service.
