XpressLab

Reaching students has always been the biggest challenge facing any teacher – regardless of era. Benjamin Franklin knew this, astutely summarizing this conundrum by proclaiming, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

Then again, Mr. Franklin never met XpressLab: an innovative technology conceived and developed by Dr. Janet Flewelling, a career languange teacher. Developed after collaborating with teachers at multiple levels of schooling across Canada, the United States and Europe, this easy-to-use, internet-based software enables instructors to create highly-interactive, multimedia lessons, activities and tests designed to engage and motivate students.

Judging from the testimonials, XpressLab – which can be used in any subject area and at any grade level -- is achieving this aim and then some, with students raving about how much it has helped them learn - and have fun - at the same time.

“It’s really cool!” “It builds up your confidence.” “Easy to use!” “Nicely-designed!” “Already helped my . . . mark – a lot!” “I think XpressLab is genius! It’s awesome!” “You don’t have to be a computer genius to learn how to do it.”

Wired Solutions is proud to have designed XpressLab, particularly in helping to meet the aim of developing oral communication skills – the foundation of literacy (Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network, 2010).
